With Great Power…

Have you ever had something someone said to you linger in the back of your head? It might have been said in passing or as a joke but it stuck with you… I guess that’s what I’m feeling right now. I keep hearing the words “you’re not really a finisher” replay over and over in my head and it doesn’t sit right with me. I had to rebuke any word curses on my life (even if it wasn’t meant with that intention).

I can and will guiltily admit I love to start projects. I love to create and after I create them I sometimes don’t know what to do next. But there are so many things in my life I’ve started and finished, and my point isn’t to convince you of that… No, its to challenge myself to post on this weekly even if no one reads it… even if I only write 50 words. I’m going to be consistent.

I also want to challenge anyone reading this to speak life into someone else. Life and death are in the power of the tongue, meaning what you say has power. You have the power to uplift or bring down and as Christians we need to make sure we are uplifting people in the spirit (with wisdom and truth).

“With great power comes great responsibility” so watch what you say towards others even if and when someone upsets you or makes you mad (cause trust me someone will annoy you ) but we have to aware of what we say about and towards people in those moments.

“Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for edifying, as fits the occasion, that it may impart grace to those who hear,” Ephesians 4:29

“There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health.” Proverbs 12:18

“Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles.” Proverbs 21:23

Instead of saying “oh they’ll never”, pray that God blesses with the things they put their hands on. Instead of saying “ oh they’re so lazy” pray that God blesses them with wisdom and motivation.

And Instead of talking down on yourself for messing something up, give yourself grace remembering that “…, He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6.

Sadly we already have enough opps in the world so don’t make yourself one. 🙁

Let’s change the way we talk, Starting Today!
